«The Global Risks Report 2016»

JEFFREY D.SACHS|«The Age of Sustainable Development»

«Jeffrey D. Sachs is one of the world's most perceptive and original analysts of global development. In this major new work he presents a compelling and practical framework for how global citizens can use a holistic way forward to address the seemingly intractable worldwide problems of persistent extreme poverty, environmental degradation, and political-economic injustice: sustainable development.
Sachs offers readers, students, activists, environmentalists, and policy makers the tools, metrics, and practical pathways they need to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Far more than a rhetorical exercise, this book is designed to inform, inspire, and spur action. Based on Sachs's twelve years as director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University, his thirteen years advising the United Nations secretary-general on the Millennium Development Goals, and his recent presentation of these ideas in a popular online course, The Age of Sustainable Development is a landmark publication and clarion call for all who care about our planet and global justice».

INCORPORAR A SUSTENTABILIDADE NA ANÁLISE FINANCEIRA E NA ESTRATÉGIA DO NEGÓCIO

O Sumário Executivo começa assim: «Until very recently, most CFOs viewed “sustainability” as someone else’s job—a matter of compliance or philanthropy unrelated to the pressing concerns that typically keep financial executives up at night. A growing number of prominent CFOs have adopted a sharply different view and, in so doing, are sending a powerful message to their peers in corporate finance: Take a closer look, and you will find increasing opportunities to leverage sustainability thinking for value creation—especially when dealing with pressures to reduce short-term business costs and strengthen your organization’s foundation for longterm growth. CFOs can leverage sustainability to improve enterprise performance in three areas: (1) risk management, (2) capital productivity, and (3) innovation and growth». De seguida  o índice que dá a ideia global do estudo:

E sobre o estudo o post  5 ways to boost sustainability's value proposition for CFOsdonde a imagem seguinte:

«Making the business case for sustainability is
essential when meeting with a CFO».

e lá se pode ler:  «While sustainability is still not a central concern for most CFOs, we found a growing number of leading CFOs who now view sustainability as a key element in business strategy, performance and growth — a sharp departure from the dominant view in their peer set.Five factors undergird the value proposition driving CFOs to incorporate sustainability into financial analysis and business strategy».
